  • Who is it suitable for? 

    For candidates who want to work as bricklayers in the building services engineering sector.

    Suitable for candidates who have previously completed the PGL ‘Introduction to Bricklaying’ course or an equivalent Level 2 Bricklaying qualification.

    What’s involved?

    This is a qualification that tests both practical and knowledge-based skills through a range of practical assessments and online exams.

    The units that will be studied are;

    • Health, Safety and Welfare in Construction
    • Principles of construction, information, quantities and communications
    • Building methods and construction technology
    • Structural and Decorative Brickwork techniques
    • Carry out repairs and maintenance on Masonry Structures
    • Carry out Erecting Complex Masonry Structures

     

     

    Where might it lead?

    When you have successfully completed this qualification, you will be at an Improver/Bricklayer’s Mate level.

    In order to fully qualify as a Bricklayer, you will need to complete the NOCN_Cskills Awards Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Trowel Occupations (Construction).

    Course Duration

    6 – 12 months

    But can be completed sooner with regular attendance.

    Delivery method

    A mixture of prior home study, workshop practical training and assessments. A delivery cycle will be provided

    Online multiple-choice tests and practical assessments

    Entry requirements

    Candidates must be able to demonstrate prior bricklaying knowledge and experience. This may either be through the completion of the ‘Introduction to bricklaying’ course, or an equivalent Level 2 Bricklaying qualification
