  • Who is it suitable for?

    This qualification is assessment only and therefore only suitable for candidates who are working in the construction industry and either have previous experience or having completed the Level 3 Diploma in Site Carpentry. This qualification will give the candidate industry recognition as a qualified Site Carpenter.

    What’s involved?

    Learners must achieve the required units to fulfil the criteria from the mandatory and optional units associated with this qualification.

    Mandatory Units:

    • Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace
    • Conforming to productive working practices in the workplace
    • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace

    Optional Units:

    • Erecting structural carcassing components in the workplace
    • Installing first fix components in the workplace
    • Installing second fix components in the workplace
    • Maintaining non – structural carpentry work in the workplace
    • Setting up and using transportable machinery in the workplace


    Outcome:                        Candidates will be classed as fully qualified Level 3 Site Carpenters 

    Course Duration:       The duration depends on the individual. We would estimate a minimum of 6 months  

    Delivery method:      This course is work based 

    Assessment method:  Direct evidence produced through normal performance in the workplace and direct observations 

    Entry requirements:  Candidates must be working in the industry and complete the Level 3 Diploma course in Site Carpentry
